Srinagar, Nov 11: The Business School, Kashmir University is currently a pet spot for leading corporate houses of India visiting here for campus placements.
 During past couple of days, a number of premier corporate houses of India have visited the Business School.
 Standard Chartered Bank Delhi, globally renowned financial company, conducted personal interview of the short-listed candidates through video conferencing on Saturday.
 Earlier, on November 2, a team of senior officials of Godrej & Boyce India Ltd, Mumbai, visited the campus for recruitment.
 The team consisted Cavas Dumasia (Vice President), Reena Lakra (Deputy General Manager Recruitment) and Purnima (Associate Chief Manager).
 Cavas Dumasia (VP), Godrej & Boyce, while interacting with the students, stressed that Godrej has established high standards for recruitment and acknowledged that the Business School “has a rich talent pool and that is why Godrej is recruiting here.”
 “Four students were recruited from the campus, one of them on wait list,” the varsity in a statement said.
 Giving details it said the campus recruitment of Godrej was followed by the visit of senior executives of Saint Gobain, Chennai. Saint Gobain is a multinational company and leading glass manufacturer.
 The recruitment process of Saint Gobain consisted of online test fallowed by personal interviews.
 Seven candidates were short-listed for final selection.
 Senior team from Bajaj Allianz, Delhi, a leading insurance company, also visited the campus and recruited nine candidates.
 While expressing  satisfaction over the campus placement of students in leading national and multinational companies, Vice Chancellor, Kashmir university, Professor Talat Ahmad  said that in today’s competitive business environment, Business Schools have to develop a strong corporate interface and placement office is a vital link that connects such schools with Industry and vice versa.
 The Vice Chancellor said the University is gifted “with bright and competent faculty and students who are working tirelessly to take this institution to new heights.”
 The Vice Chancellor stressed on the need to develop a “synergized vision to achieve the ultimate goal of making the University of Kashmir globally renowned institution of knowledge and learning.”
 Registrar Prof Zaffer Ahmad Reshi said, "The future belongs to youth and how we educate and train our future generation is therefore very significant.” “We must have a well designed strategy to make our students employable and I assure all the possible help in that direction."
 Prof. Shabir A Bhat, Director Business School said that all the stakeholders have a strong role to play for making education more contemporary and relevant to the requirements of the corporate world and society.  He said: “The university authorities are committed to providing better opportunities to the students and make campus recruitment a permanent feature.”
