Kangan paramedical diploma holders demand appointment
Kangan, Nov 12: Unemployed paramedical diploma holders of Kangan block have accused the authorities of failing to appoint them under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) in the health institutions in their respective areas.
A group of unemployed paramedical candidates said under the NRHM appointments were made in the state except Kangan block.
They said according to norms of the NRHM scheme authorities have to give preference to candidates of local blocks for appointing candidates in the respective health institutions. “Throwing these guidelines to winds, candidates from other areas have been appointed in our blocks,” Manzoor Ahmad an unemployed candidate said.
The candidates said a Primary health centre should have full paramedical staff and diagnostic facilities like X-ray, ECG and clininal tests. “But in Kangan block Public Health Centers like Chhatergul, Sonamarg, Preng and Wangat does not have proper diagnostic facilities or manpower,” said Ajaz Ahmad a candidate.
The candidates urged the Chief Medical Officer, Ganderbal Mehmooda Kar to look into the matter.
