Raj Bagh guesthouse sealed on HC orders
Srinagar, Nov 12: A guesthouse at Raj Bagh was sealed by the Srinagar Municipal Corporation on directions of the High Court, a SMC handout Monday said.
It said: “The enforcement wing of the SMC sealed the premises of Firdous Ahmed Lone S/O Gaffar Lone R/O Abi Guzar Srinagar on the directions of Hon’ble High Court that passed order on 7-11-2012 in OWP NO 759/2012 titled Masjid Noor V/s State and others in terms of which the BOCA(SMC) has been directed to seal the premises.”
The SMC spokesperson Masrat Yousuf in a handout said: “The applicant was granted permission for constructing roof over the existing gutted residential building and for construction of compound walling at Raj Bagh.”
“But the applicant/violator in breach of permission granted to him converted the residential house into a hotel and has allegedly violated the terms and conditions of the permission granted to him in accordance with plan by Building Operation Controlling Authority (BOCA),” the handout added.
“A huge illegal construction had come up on spot and the violator has raised construction on ground floor also without any permission.”
A senior SMC official said the Court direction should serve an eye-opener for those who “intrigue to violate building permission norms.”
