Strict rules
This refers to the letter by Shayesta, calling the recent Talaq judgment as a "commendable". In Surah Yunis of holy Quran, (A 15 and 16), Almighty Allah commands Prophet Muhammad (PBUH ): "Say O Mohammad PBUH,- it is not for me to change it on my own accord. Verily I fear the torment of a Great Day i.e. the Day of Resurrection, if I were to disobey my LORD." The question is not about the correctness or otherwise of the interpretation, but who has the mandate to interpret it. One can not find as lucid and comprehensive guarantees, protection and rights of Muslim Women in any religion as are in place in the Shariah. Also there are stringent checks and balances, both for men and women, in Quran as well as in Hadith. Holy Quran is the only Book having the distinction of being in its original form and no one can alter it or sit on judgment about its interpretation. There are strict rules for the interpretation of Divine Laws or Hadith/Sunnah. Let us strictly observe them and prove that we are Muslims. May Allah lead us all to the right path.
