Banks overachieve financial targets in Shopian

Srinagar, Nov 15: J&K Bank organized District Level Review Committee meeting in Shopian for the quarter ended September, 2012.
DDC Shopian Muhammad Javeed Khan presided over the meeting that reviewed the progress for the second quarter of current fiscal year.
The meeting was attended by District Level Officers of government departments, representatives from all banks, NABARD and RBI, the bank in a statement said.
Speaking on the occasion Lead District Manager (LDM) Shopian, M Saleem Wani briefed the house about the progress for second quarter of the financial year 2012-13.
He said the total credit outstanding at the end of the quarter in all banks of district stood at Rs. 419.12 crore, out of which Rs 380.81 crore are in priority sector.
The deposits in banks were Rs 375.32 crore. The CD Ratio of the district was 112%.
Against the financial target of Rs 161.47 crore and physical target of 6421 beneficiaries under priority sector, the banks have disbursed Rs 228.54 crore to 8909 beneficiaries during the first two quarters of the FY 2012-13, thereby achieving the financial target by 141% and physical target by 138%.
In agricultural sector the banks in the district have disbursed Rs 217.84 crore to 7890 beneficiaries against the annual target of Rs. 107.74 crore to 6421 beneficiaries making the achievement as 202% in financial terms and 123% in physical terms.
Literacy camp
Meanwhile, J&K Bank organised a financial literacy camp in Sallar Block at Dachni Pora Anantnag, which was attended by good number of people.
