Carom championship concludes in Srinagar
SSP Srinagar Felicitate Winners
Srinagar, Nov 15: In its endeavor to boost the sports activities in Srinagar, a District level Carom championship was held in District Police Lines, Srinagar in association with J&K State Carom Association.
Large number of youth including the students from district Srinagar participated in the competition. The competition was organised in three categories in both segments of men and women viz, senior, Under-18, and Under-14.
In senior men’s category, Ajaz Koul was the winner while Waseem Bashur clinched the Under-18 title and Ilham bagged the Under-14. In women’s category, Adfar Jaan bagged the senior while Iram took the Under-18 and Harmeet Kour bagged the under-14 competition.
The competition was inaugurated by the DIG, CKR Afhead-ul-Mujtaba. Mujtaba in his opening address insisted that the competitions develop sportsmanship which would contribute the state at national and international levels.
The prizes were distributed to the winners by SSP Srinagar, Aashiq Hussain Bukhari. He impressed upon the youth to focus equally on studies along with sports for the better future.
