PAKISTAN NEED STRONG GOVT TO RESOLVE KASHMIR ISSUE: IMRAN KHAN

Muzaffarabad, Nov 15: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Thursday said that military might could not resolve any problems and India should therefore find a peaceful settlement to the lingering Kashmir issue.
“I want to give a message to India that if military prowess could bring solutions, a super power like United States would not have failed in Afghanistan,” he said, while speaking to a gathering in lakeside city of Mirpur.
“India should (therefore) pull out its troops from Kashmir and find a peaceful solution to the longstanding dispute,” he added. It was first major political activity of Khan in PaK where his party is yet to launch a formal organisational setup.
The event was held outside Quaid-e-Azam Cricket Stadium and was also addressed by PTI leaders Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri, Azam Khan Swati, singer Abrarul Haq and others.
“Pakistan and India can bring prosperity in the lives of their people by spending the amount for weapons on their welfare,” he said.
“Pakistan needs a strong government to resolve Kashmir issue,” Khan said, adding PTI would settle Kashmir issue in accordance with the wishes of Kashmiris not through the guns but through peaceful talks.
“There won’t be prosperity until the peaceful settlement of Kashmir issue.”
Khan claimed that previously the Kashmir issue had headed towards settlement, but the weak government had put it on the back burner.
