Bike lifter held, stolen bikes recovered: Police
‘Recovery made from Bijbehara, Anantnag hospitals’

Srinagar, Nov 16: Police on Friday claimed to have arrested notorious bike lifter from Nowpora Khanyar in Shaher-e-Khaas adding that seven stolen bikes were recovered from his possession.
Conforming the arrests, SP north City Tahir Saleem Khan said police had been tracking the cases for the past few months.
Giving details, he said: “On October 27, Lateef Ahmad Fazli son of Ghulam Rasool Fazili of Lal Bazar lodged complaint at police station Rainawari that his bike Pulsar bearing registered NO JK01R/4574 was missing near Sultan-ul Arifeen School Rainawari.”
A few days back Police Station Rainawari is understood to have received specific information that the notorious bike lifter hailing from Malpora Wanpoh in Kulgam district was on prowl at Nowpora Khanyar. The suspect was called to police station Rainawari. “During sustained questioning he disclosed that he had stolen as many as seven bikes from different areas especially in downtown Srinagar,” a police official said.
He said a special team was constituted under the supervision of SDPO Khanyar Sajad Ahmad Shah and bikes were recovered. Interestingly, some bikes were recovered from hospitals in Bijbehara and Anantnag areas of south Kashmir, he added.
The recovered bikes, as per police, include JK01R/4574 Pulsar, JK01D/0572 Hero Honda, JK01S/7728 Scooty, JK01G/6052 TVS Victor, JK01F/8269 pulsar, JK02E/5994 Splender Honda and JK01J/0393 Splender Honda
