MNREGA project
This refers to a revolutionary flagship scheme MNREGA started by GoI, which in real sense can help a lot to uplift the down trodden people. It is irony that this flagship scheme is not being implemented in letter and spirit in Rural areas due to lack of monitoring and supervision. A positive measure was supposed to enhance the functioning of the scheme and the department of RDD J&K state conducted interviews of programme officers for Jammu division in August 2012, though the interview of said post were postponed for a year. Now selection process of programme officers is gathering dust in Directorate of Rural Development Jammu. There is a need to make the selection process more vibrant, so that the functioning and transparency in flagship scheme is felt on the ground.
The quick selection process of programme officers in hilly Jammu division of Jammu will prove panacea for MNREGA.
