Amar Singh College celebrates Annual Day
Srinagar, Nov 17: Minister for Higher Education, Abdul Gani Malik Saturday said that institutions of higher learning play a crucial role in shaping career of the new generation and also in building confidence in them to face challenges at national and international level.
An official handout said the minister was addressing a function at Amar Singh College Srinagar, organised in connection with Annual Day celebrations 2012.
Principal of the College, Prof Zahoor Chatt, former Principal of the college and scholar, Prof GM Dar were present on the occasion.
The Minister said that several colleges and Amar Singh College under the leadership of Prof Tariq Kawoosa and Prof Zahoor Chatt have earned laurels during past several years.
He said that the luminaries like former Principal, Amar Singh College, Prof GM Dar and others are guiding factor for higher education department and their services shall always be remembered by the intellectuals, scholars and students of the state.
Earlier, Principal of the College, Prof Zahoor Chatt welcomed the Minister and apprised about the achievements registered by the college during last academic year.
