CUTIS institute performs vital surgery
Srinagar, Nov 1: In a significant achievement, the CUTIS Skin and Laser Institute has performed a melanocyte transplant procedure on a Jordanian patient who had come all the way from Middle East for the surgery.
The patient, according to medicos, was suffering from segmental vitiligo on his face and neck. The patent had undergone a melanocyte transplant procedure in Canada in 2009 but had not improved with it.
“He was in contact with us since June 2012 through regular emails and finally he arrived here on October 14,” said Dr Imran Majid, Assistant Professor Dermatology and in-charge consultant, CUTIS Skin Institute. “We arranged his stay and did the procedure on the same evening.”
