Save detainees from dying in jails: Rehmani to legal fraternity

Srinagar: The chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples’ Freedom League Muhammad Farooq Rehmani has appealed to the legal fraternity to come forward to save political prisoners from dying in jails.
 Rehmani in a statement said: “We strongly denounce the misinterpretation of life term and punishment against Muslim League chief Dr Qasim Fuktoo and some other detainees. It is an act of vendetta.”
 “To allow Kashmiri detainees to die in prisons by prolonging their imprisonment is another tactic of harassing Kashmiris,” he said. “It can have far reaching implications and ramifications for peaceful life of citizens and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir conflict.”
