Babus among 31 fined for smoking

Srinagar, Nov 20: 31 persons including officials were caught smoking at public places and fined, an official handout Tuesday said.
 It said on the instructions of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon, a joint anti-tobacco squad, comprising of representatives from Drug & Food Control Organisation, Health Department and police inspected various places in Srinagar and caught 31 persons smoking at public places.
 “A fine of Rs 4,800 was recovered on spot. During checking one Accounts Officer, Industries Department, Two Naib Tehsildars, one Junior Engineer, R&B posted at Barbarshah, were also fined for smoking in public places,” an official handout said adding the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and the DDDC Srinagar have appreciated the joint squad.
