GAZA burns again

Were the old barbarians any different!

GRUESOME

ISHFAQ AHMAD

‘Withdrawing’ implies, in whatever indistinct sense, an end or at least shrinking of hostilities. But, every now and again we wake up to discover that Israeli Army has committed a massacre in Palestine. So far, 49 Gazans died, more than 450 wounded, most of the casualties are children, in the first four days of brutal attacks. Among the deaths, an entire family of 10 members. Imagine all members of the same family, dead, at one fell swoop, and soon these unfortunate deaths will be brushed aside as a mistake from an otherwise morally superior, and well –intentioned Army. I am sick to my stomach, I am sick of hearing that ‘we regret’, ‘sorry’, ‘ sympathies’, and ‘null promises’ of investigations that never materialize and whose only purpose is to exculpate the accused. People are still buried under the rubble of several shelled constructions. Most of the hospitals in Gaza are short of medical supplies and the equipments needed for surgeries. On the other side, Israel has claimed of targeting Hamas Fighters, instead, shelled Mosques, Blacksmith workshops, Local media agencies, Charitable societies and also The Islamic University of Gaza. Don’t be surprised, the attacks were carried out with F16 fighter jets, Apache Helicopters, Naval Gun Boats, and Missiles; all provided to Israel by the United States. To kill starving Arabs, to target women and children, to kill someone’s entire family means you create an Army of Terrorists to use in other countries. A good example would be the Munich Olympic massacre where two undercover agents and seven Arabs assassinated some Israeli Athletes. Moreover, when you are in control of all the National and International media and not to forget The Hollywood, You Hijack a jet, kill an American and just four months later you will make a movie starring ‘Chuck Norris’. How troubled the Muslims of Middle East are. First, the West wanted the Palestinians accept the Democracy, which they did, by electing Hamas as their Party. Soon after, Hamas presided over the Gaza Strip, The Westerners, for no reason, still wanted to negotiate with the President Mahmoud Abbas and blame Palestine for having two leaders, see the ‘Prank’. Now, who will they negotiate with? To whom do they talk? None other than the Hamas itself. But these warlords did not like the democratically elected government of the Palestine, they don’t want peace to prevail in there. Their basic aim was that Palestinians should not have voted Hamas, which declines to recognize Israel or abide by the totally discredited Oslo agreement. To our astonishment, no one has asked which particular Israel Hamas is supposed to recognize. The Israel of 1948? The Israel of post 1967 borders? The Israel which builds and goes on building vast settlements for Jews on Arab Land, gobbling up even more of the 22% of Palestine left over. The fact of the matter is that Palestinians voted for Hamas because they wanted an Islamic Republic, they were tired of the corruption of Fattah and the rotten nature of Palestinian Authority. Palestinians wanted an end to corruption, the cancer of the Arab world and so they voted for Hamas and thus these all wise all good westerners decide to starve them and bully them for exercising their free vote. All over the Middle East, same is the story. We support Hamid Karzai in Afghanistan, even though he keeps warlords and drug barons in his government and at the same time are sorry about all those innocent Afghan civilians killed in their so called ‘war on terror’. They loved Husni Mubarakh of Egypt, whose tortures had not finished with the Muslim Brotherhood politicians, whose Presidency received warm support of G.W. Bush. Likewise, we adored Muamar Gadafi, the crazy dictator of Libya. King Abdullah’s unconstitutional monarchy in Jordan, and all the Princes and Emirs of the Gulf. All who can understand the situation in Palestine can vouch that Israel repeats the process of killing, expelling, and enslaving Muslims in order to redeem and make clean the “Promised land”. Nothing has changed. They are in effect trying to implement 21st century BC ideas in a 21st century AD world
