Uncovered manholes pose risk to commuters
Bijbehara: Authorities have put the lives of people at risk by leaving most of the manholes uncovered in the town
The inhabitants said that the uncovered manholes pose danger to commuters especially during evening and night hours. “A few days ago a boy fell into a manhole. He had a narrow escape as some passersby rescued him,’’ said Tawseef Peer a local.
They said many vehicles suffered damages after passing through the uncovered manholes on the Goriwan road
”This is a sheer callousness on part of the concerned authorities. We approached the officials but they didn’t pay any heed,’’ locals alleged.
The residents appealed the UEED and Municipal authorities to look into the matter.
