New Kargil post office building inaugurated

Srinagar, Nov 22: John Samuel, Chief Postmaster General, Jammu and Kashmir inaugurated newly constructed Post Office Building of Kargil Post Office.
The building constructed at a cost of Rs 40 lakh has been constructed on an area of one kanal and is the first departmental building of Kargil District.
The eco-friendly building is a model architecture in the area. John Samuel on the occasion said the Post Office at Kargil has been provided with the state of the art technology, which will provide services like Speed Post, eMO, ePost, iMO and Savings Bank.
Chief Postmaster General stated that J&K Circle has undertaken a Post Office Transformation drive and many modernized post offices have already been dedicated to the public of Jammu and Kashmir.
Till now 20 Post Offices have been modernized in J&K Circle. In Kargil District this is the first Post Office which has been functioning in a departmental building.
John Samuel also announced that one more new Mail Van will be provided between Ladakh and Kargil to facilitate the transmission of mails.
