Mirwaiz only leader: Bilal Lone
Srinagar, Nov 27: Senior Hurriyat (M) leader Bilal Gani Lone Tuesday said Kashmir issue had to be resolved as per the aspirations of people of Kashmir and that the Chairman of the amalgam, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has been accepted as leader of Kashmir by not just India and Pakistan but by the world community as well.
“Kashmir is an issue and people are its stakeholders. The issue has to be resolved as per the wishes of people,” Lone told civil society members at Hurriyat (M) headquarters here. He said Mirwaiz was the only Kashmiri leader accepted by India and Pakistan and the world community. “We could produce him (Mirwaiz) as a great leader over the past 22 years. He is a man with a brave heart and great courage,” said Lone. “We have surrendered ourselves to his leadership.”
He said it was easy to die but very difficult to survive. “Pakistan is like the big brother of Kashmiri people but that doesn’t mean we will sell ourselves to them,” Lone said. He cautioned people not to support parties like National Conference, Congress and PDP. He said after its Pakistan visit, Hurriyat leadership will launch a village-to-village campaign to build contact with people.
