MDU Rohtak lifts title
INTER UNIVERSITY WOMEN’S CRICKET TOURNEY
Srinagar, Nov 2: MDU Rohtak lifted the All India Inter-University Women’s Cricket Tournament title defeating Awadh University by 7 wickets in the final played at Kashmir University ground here on Friday.
Batting first, Awadh University set a target of 100 runs in allotted overs. Neelam was highest scorer with 22 runs. In reply MDU Rohtak achieved the target in 16.1 overs for the loss of three wickets. Pooja Sharma was the highest scorer with 46 runs.
For the third place, match was played between Bombay University and Jiwaji University. Batting first, Jiwaji University set a target of 67 runs in alloted overs. In reply Bombay University achieved the target without any loss.
The Registrar Kashmir University, Prof. ZA Reshi was chief guest on the occasion and distributed prizes among the winners.
Among other present were Director Directorate of Physical Education and Sports department Kashmir University, Prof BA Khan.
