MFA submits memorandum to Principal GMC

Srinagar, Nov 2: Representatives of Executive body of the Medical Faculty Association (MFA) have submitted a memorandum to Dr (Prof) Rafiq Ahmed Pampori Principal-Dean of Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar, highlighting various confronting the College and its associated hospitals.
 In a statement general secretary MFA Dr Sajad Majid Qazi said the Association’s delegation led by its president Dr (Prof) Kaisar Ahmed met the Principal/Dean GMC Srinagar recently.
 “MFA while welcoming the appointment of Principal / Dean of GMC Srinagar submitted a memorandum highlighting critical issues regarding the GMC and its associated hospitals. MFA conveyed to Principal/Dean that the attitude of administration to improve GMC Srinagar and to promote its faculty is inconsistent,” the statement said.
 The MFA various issues including depleted faculty positions, implementation of  MCI norms for faculty positions promotions and service, amendments of 1979 recruitment rules, merger of NPA with basic pay in favour of non practicing faculty members for purposes of granting of HRA/DA and counting for pensionary benefits.
 “The Principal/Dean GMC gave patient hearing and assured the MFA that the demands put forth will be examined and addressed in a fixed time frame,” the statement said.
