Sonzal ends with protests
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Nov 3: The valedictory function of Kashmir University’s youth festival, Sonzal, on Saturday witnessed high drama when students from the Department of Law staged walkout from the Convocation Complex, hooting at officials and shouting slogans.
The students accused the varsity administration of sidelining them in taking part in the festival.
“Rather than uniting the students-for which the festival was aimed at, Sonzal created a divide between administration and students,” the protesting students said.
The students of Law Department said they were not entertained in taking part in various programmes despite wishing to attend the festival.
When contacted, Dean Students Welfare Neelofar Khan while refuting the allegations said Head Department of Law had asked the students to take part in the festival. “The reason why the students walked out was that they were hooting to a large extent and disturbing the programme. But whatever they are stating is absolutely wrong,” she said.
