Given the global economic situation and the fact that peace cannot wait, UPEACE will meet students from specific regions half-way by providing 50% scholarship..
Value: The scholarship will cover 50% tuition fees of the program.
Other Benefits: Also, UPEACE offers special conditions to its students for continuing their studies in the Doctoral Programme in Peace and Conflict Studies.

Chevening scholarship for postgraduate students
Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organizations offer Chevening Scholarships for foreign students to study postgraduate courses at Universities in UK during 2013-14
Study Subject(s): Chevening Scholarships are awarded across a wide range of fields; including politics, government, business, media, environment, civil society, religion, and academia.
Course Level: Chevening awards enable Scholars to study a one-year postgraduate Master’s course.
Eligibility: There are no age restrictions for Chevening Scholarships. To qualify for a Chevening Scholarship, you must:
-demonstrate that you have achieved a minimum English language requirement (set out below) at the time that you submit your application
-be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country at the time of applying for the award, and intend to return there at the end of the period of study
-hold a degree that is equivalent to at least a good UK second-class honours degree. Further information on UK degree equivalency can be found from UK NARIC
-have completed at least two years’ work or equivalent experience by 30 September 2012
What does it cover?
A full Chevening Scholarship award normally comprises:
-payment of tuition fees;
-travel to and from your country of residence by an approved route for you only;
-an arrival allowance;
-a grant for the cost of preparation of a thesis or dissertation (if required);
-an excess baggage allowance;
-the cost of an entry clearance (visa) application for you only;
- monthly personal living allowance (stipend) to cover accommodation and living expenses. The monthly stipend will depend on whether you are studying inside or outside London. It is currently £917 per month outside London and £1134 per month inside London (subject to annual review)

CUD scholarship to pursue international courses in Belgium
 The CUD (Cutting-edge International Trainings and Courses for Development) is currently seeking applications for the 2013-2014 Scholarship Program aimed at offering support to candidates from select developing countries to pursue international courses and trainings such as the European Masters in Microfinance, Master in Public Health – Guidance Health and Development, Master in International Economics and Development, Master in Development, Environment and Societies, Master in Public Health Methodology etc and courses like Internship in Management Systems Health Services – economics and resource management / planning in Belgium-based institutions.
Only applicants originating in developing countries, qualify for selection.
Eligibility Requirements
Age-limit for participating in the program is 40 years for the courses and 45 years for trainings. Eligible candidates will be those holding a graduate degree comparable to Belgian University graduate degree (“license”). After completion of the program, selected candidates should return back to their country and pursue work in the field in which they have undergone the course or training.

Honjo international scholarship
Honjo International Scholarship Foundation Japan invites applications from foreign students to apply for Master and PhD scholarship in any subject.
This scholarship is open to foreign students who will attend a graduate school at a Japanese university. The payment of the scholarship money will be issued starting from April, 2013. The scholarship winners are under no obligation to repay the amount they receive from the Foundation.
Eligibility: The student is registered to attend a graduate school in Japan and does not possess Japanese citizenship. His or her academic achievement as well as moral character is exemplary. He or she must be considered to be in need of financial aid due to extenuating financial circumstances.
The student must be able to provide any of the following documentation: a certificate of enrollment, letter of admission or a letter attesting to the fact that the student has been accepted.
To be eligible, students enrolled in a PhD Program must have been born after March 31, 1976. Those enrolled in a Master’s Program must have been born after March 31, 1981.
The student must be able to assure the committee that he or she will be able to secure employment in his or her home country after graduating from a graduate school.
The student must have a deep understanding of international friendship and goodwill, and be committed to make his or her contribution.
The student must be able to carry an everyday conversation in Japanese. Interviews will be conducted in Japanese

Yale World Fellows Program for Journalists
Mid-career media professionals who reside outside of the United States can apply for a fellowship.
The 2013 Yale World Fellows Program is seeking applications from emerging leaders who have distinguished themselves within their own professions, regions, countries, or at an international level.
Candidates for the fellowship must demonstrate to be driving forces for action or effective catalysts of change. In significant ways and in significant arenas, each must show promise of a career trajectory of increasing responsibility and impact.
There are two primary aspects to the fellowship experience on campus. First, the fellows participate fully in an academic curriculum that advances their critical-thinking and leadership skills. Second, the fellows become teachers and mentors by deepening the understanding of the entire Yale community about the complexity and diversity of the world. They guest lecture in classes, meet with student groups, deliver campus-wide lectures and contribute to informal dialogue and learning across the campus.
The program runs annually from mid-August to mid-December. The application deadline is December 5, 2012

Stanford fellowship for democracy, development
Journalists involved in their country's economic and political development can apply for a summer fellowship at Stanford University.
The Draper Hills Summer Fellowship on Democracy and Development is a three-week program that brings together 25 to 30 midcareer professionals across all disciplines, especially those from developing countries.
The university covers travel, accommodation, living expenses and visa costs. The training program provides a forum for emerging leaders to connect, exchange experiences and receive academic training through seminars, academic readings and classroom-based curriculum.
Applicants must have a working knowledge of English and submit an online form, resume, statement of purpose and up to three letters of recommendation.
The deadline is December 14 for the full application, and November 23 for the intake questionnaire.

Journalists worldwide interested in using social media to report on public affairs can participate in this program.
The Kiplinger Program in Public Affairs Journalism at Ohio State University invites journalists to apply for the 2013 Kiplinger Fellowship.
Participants will explore creative reporting uses of Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and other social media sites. Training sessions will showcase strategies for backgrounding individuals and companies, as well as building an online following. Fellows will learn the latest tactics for effective public affairs reporting, including the retrieval of public records, documents and data.
Print, broadcast and online journalists with five or more years of experience and strong English skills are eligible to apply.
The fellowship includes accommodation and a travel stipend, and will take place April 7 - 12, 2013 in Columbus, Ohio.

The PhD in Economics and Finance is designed for highly qualified and motivated international students who wish to acquire first rate research skills. A Bocconi PhD creates openings in the world of research, both academic and non-academic, in international organizations, central banks, government agencies and primary firms.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The program is divided into two curricula:
Economics and Finance; curriculum has to be selected in the application phase. By its nature, the program is multidisciplinary and students choose from a wide range of electives. Dedicated mentorship and support are offered to students throughout their time at Bocconi.
Our first-year students acquire a broad set of theoretical and methodological skills required in both economics and finance (mathematics, statistics, econometrics, microeconomics) , as well as in their curriculum (macroeconomics for Economics, asset pricing and corporate finance for Finance).
In the second year, students choose their field of specialization within their curriculum (e.g. asset pricing, accounting, banking, corporate finance, development economics, econometrics, economic history, microeconomic theory, industrial dynamics and organization, international economics, macroeconomics, political economics, and public economics).
The third and fourth years are entirely dedicated to research, including attendance at regular seminars held by internationally renowned internal and external faculty.

Magnum Foundation’s Human Rights Fellowship
Magnum Foundation has announced the availability of human rights fellowships for the 2013 NYU-MF Photography and Human Rights Program. The program will support 5 individuals to complete the 6-week summer program, Photography and Human Rights, at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University (NYU), housing, travel, and living expenses.
Individuals who are seeking to deepen their documentary photography practice of human rights, who have not previously had the benefit of extensive advanced study in this field can apply for this fellowship opportunity.
The five Magnum Foundation Human Rights Fellowships are open to applicants who permanently reside outside of North America and Western Europe. Individuals who live and work in North America or Western Europe may still apply to the program, but are not eligible for these human rights fellowships. All applicants must be able to speak and write in English.
The Open Society Foundations, Nancy Stephens and Rick Rosenthal of The Rosenthal Family Foundation, Genevieve McMillan-Reba Stewart Foundation, have provided generous support for the Human Rights Fellowships.

Scholarship Description: The objective of the scheme is to provide facilities to outstanding young children selected in the age group of 10 to 14 years studying either in recognized schools or belonging to families of practicing traditional performing artists for developing their talent in various cultural fields such as traditional forms of music, dance, drama as well as painting, sculpture and crafts, laying special emphasis on rare forms, which are in the process of becoming extinct.
Number of awards offered: 500 Scholarships are offered out of which minimum 5 seats each are reserved for all the states and at least 3 each for all the Union Territories. Minimum 10 scholarships are reserved for the state of Jammu and Kashmir also.
Tenure of award: Scholarship is offered for 2 years.
What Does it cover: The value of scholarship is Rs.3600/- (Rupees Three Thousand Six Hundred only) per annum and the actual tuition fee paid for the specialized training to the Institution or Guru is also reimbursed subject to a ceiling of Rs.3600/- (Rupees Three Thousand Six Hundred only) per year.
Selection criteria:
-Children in the age group of 10-14 years studying either in recognized schools or belonging to families practicing traditional, performing and other arts are chosen for the scholarships.
-The outstanding children in various cultural fields such as traditional forms of music, dance, drama as well as painting, sculpture and crafts are selected for the award of scholarships. Special emphasis is given to rare art forms, which are in the process of becoming extinct.
