Kashmir to host national tourism mart in March-April
Valley’s tourism potential being showcased in WTM London

Srinagar, Nov 6: Kashmir’s tourism potential is being presently showcased at the World Travel Mart in London.
Tourism Department Kashmir has set up a stall at the Mart which, according to the officials, has evoked tremendous response with large number of travel and tour operators inquiring about the tourist places in the Valley.
Over 100 countries are participating in the fair from across the world. The four-day was kicked-off on Monday. The official delegation from Kashmir led by Director Tourism Talat Pervez, is showcasing Kashmir as an all round tourist destination, they said.
In his address at the Mart, Director Tourism Talat Parvez, according to the officials, said that tourism marts are right kind of medium to highlight tourism potential of Kashmir region to high spending tourists.
“The mart has provided us an opportunity to promote Kashmir as an all season tourism destination and also to pick up the new tourism trends in other countries,” he said.
Parvez talking to Greater Kashmir from London over phone said J&K is making efforts to attract tourists with the support of eco-resorts, golf events, para-gliding besides health and wellness tourism.
Officials said, on the occasion Union Tourism Minister Dr. K Chiranjeevi during his interaction with journalists and travel agents projected Kashmir as a safe destination. On a query by Habib Khankashi, a Kashmiri businessman based in London regarding travel advisories to Kashmir by some countries, officials said the Union Tourism minister said that Government of India is making efforts to get these advisories revoked.
