Series system

This refers to series system introduced by BOSE in secondary and higher secondary level examinations.  This system has evoked severe criticism from the student community. It is a discriminatory move on the part of BOSE authorities. Series system has been put into place to curb the menace of copying. Although it has helped ensure transparency in examinations to some extent, but it has also proved fatal for hardworking and competent students. Recently held Mathematics paper of class 12th has shaken the confidence of students. Out of three paper series, two were very difficult. The board authorities should immediately review its system in order to ensure that students do not suffer for none of their faults. They can accommodate and incorporate suggestions of noted academicians and intellectuals. They should involve teaching community in its planning strategy. It is only through debates and discussions that newer and innovative ideas take birth. At the end of the day, it is the future of our younger generation which is at stake.
