DeM holds seminar in memory of Marriam Jameela
Srinagar, Nov 8: Dukhtaran-e-Milat organized a seminar titled: “Marriam Jameela—a great thinker of 20th century” at Darasgah Noor-ul-Hudda, Khanyar, here.
A large number of women from different parts of the Valley, according to DeM statement, attended the seminar.
Speakers on the occasion threw light on the different facets of the life of late Mariam Jameela, describing her great Islamic scholar who started the journey of her life from the caverns of Israeli family.
They said, “It is unfortunate that the Muslims especially women are unaware about the Marriam Jameela’s services and contributions.”
In her presidential address, the DeM chief Asiya Andrabi said: “I started my journey from darkness to light in 1981 after studying Marriam Jameela’s books and I was highly impressed by her books. I have always looked upon her as my benefactor.”
Asiya urged the women to study the books on Islam written by late Marriam Jameela.
