Srinagar players shine in junior categories
39TH STATE BADMINTON C'SHIP
Srinagar, Nov 8: In the ongoing 39th State Badminton championship being played at MA Stadium Jammu, District Srinagar players have performed brilliantly in junior categories.
Amil Ahmad of RP School defeated Savinay Manvi in Under-13 boys singles final by 21-18, 21-14 and lifted the title. In Under-15 boys single final Adam Ahmad of R.P. School lost to Divum Gupta by 15-21 and 14-21.
Sahar Masarat of DPS beat Naman in Under-15 girls singles final by 21-15, 21-15. Sahar Masarat also claimed the Under-17 girls singles title by beating Rupal by 21-8, 21-9.
The team of Sahil and Farhan lost to Vipul and Sahil in semi-finals in men's doubles by 21-19, 19-21,21-19.
“It is great to see our players performing brilliantly in junior categories, which shows that we were performing better in badminton,” said team manager Fayaz Ahmad.
