Government reconstitutes Screening Committee
Promotion of IAS Officers

Jammu, Oct 11: The J&K Government Thursday reconstituted the screening committee for promotion of various scales of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers in Jammu and Kashmir cadre.
The Committee will be headed by Chief Secretary Madhav Lal with Muhammad Iqbal Khandey, Principal Secretary to Government Finance Department and BR Sharma, Principal Secretary to Government Home Department, as members.
The Administrative Secretary General Administration Department shall attend the Committee meetings as a special invitee.
Officials said the Committee has been constituted in pursuance of the Indian Administrative Service (Pay) Rules, 2007, read with guidelines issued by the Government of India’s Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on the subject.
“The Screening Committee will consider and assess the suitability of eligible officers for promotion to various scales of IAS,” they said.
