‘Clear your stand’
Er Rashid Asks Soz

Srinagar, Oct 18: MLA Langate Er Rashid Thursday asked the Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz to clear his stand on the proposed Amarnath construction plans.
In a press statement, Er Rashid asked Soz to “clear his stand on the proposed construction of road to Amarnath shrine and the expected environmental disaster in case the road is constructed.”
Reacting to Soz’s statement that no party can form government in Jammu and Kashmir without the support of Congress, Rashid said the statement “speaks about the ill-designs of Congress not to allow regional parties to join hands in the larger interest of Kashmiri people.”
“By pressing hard for reservation in BDC elections for SC and ST communities, Congress cannot hide its ill-designs towards the people of Kashmir. If Soz and others have really some sympathy for Kashmiri people then they should have sought reservation for SC and ST only for parts of the state where their population really exists,” Rashid said.
Rashid asked Soz and his colleagues “why they maintaining silence on asking New Delhi to resolve the long-pending Jammu and Kashmir dispute to which Congress has been one of the key players.”
“The Congress leadership is always bothered to safeguard its interests at the national level and that is why Soz and others don’t utter a word on removal of draconian laws like AFSPA and PSA,” Rashid said. “It is oblivious that by adopting principle of divide and rule it is intentionally facilitating to curb genuine rights and aspirations of Kashmiri people and is using all ways and means to ensure that two big regional parties NC and PDP should not join the hands with each other for the larger interest of people of Jammu and Kashmir.”
