Kashmir issue a reality: Yasin Malik

‘Linking Tourism, Sports With Politics Reflects Negative Mindset’

Srinagar, Oct 23: The chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik, has said buying apples at Lal Chowk here and tourists visiting some places does not mean that all is well in Kashmir.
“Kashmir issue is a reality. Buying apples at Lal Chowk and issuing statements from New Delhi that all is well in Kashmir cannot change the ground reality and disputed status of Kashmir,” Malik said addressing people at the shrine of Hazrat Shah-i-Hamadan (RA). Yasin Malik visited the shrine on the occasion of Urs-i-Shah-i-Hamadan in which thousands of devotees participated.
“Without resolving Kashmir issue one cannot even dream of peace, prosperity or stability in South Asia. Rulers from New Delhi come to Kashmir and take some cosmetic and half-hearted measures and try to provoke Kashmiris especially the youth. This negative approach will yield nothing but disaster. By issuing such statements these politicians are pushing the youth towards violence. This will only promote hatred and more violence in the region and give rise to dangerous situations,”
Malik said.
“The manner in which Indian leaders and rulers try to link tourism, trade, and even sports with politics and negate the ongoing struggle of Kashmiris is highly condemnable. It also reflects negative mindset,” Malik said.
“Hazrat Mir Syed Ali Hamadani (RA) not only led us on the religious and spiritual front but gave us much needed economic freedom. We ignored the teachings of our great spiritual leaders and are today facing a miserable life,” Malik said adding that “we have lost the economic freedom granted by this spiritual peer and our youth are today after Government jobs.”
Malik appealed for religious tolerance and Maslaki brotherhood among Muslims and said that “promoting mutual brotherhood is the only solution that can eradicate our miseries.”
