NCPCR member calls on Guv
Srinagar, Oct 24: Member of National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) Dipa Dixit on Wednesday called on Governor N N Vohra at Raj Bhawan here and discussed the need for setting up a commission for protection of child rights in the state, an official spokesman said.
She briefed the Governor in detail about the activities of NCPCR in the state which are aimed at securing child rights.
Other issues including juvenile justice system in the state also came up for discussion, the spokesman said. The Governor stressed on the importance of increasing awareness about available safeguards for protection of child rights. Vohra observed that children in need of special care and protection, especially those belonging to the disadvantaged sections and those affected by militancy and other unfortunate circumstances, require very special attention.
