No proposal to release any detainee on Eid: Government
SHABIR IBN YUSUF
Srinagar, Oct 24: Unlike previous years, the J&K Government has no plans to release any detainee on the eve of Eid-ul-Adha this year.
“I do not know anything about the issue,” officiating Principal Secretary, Home Department, Muhammad Iqbal Khanday told Greater Kashmir.
However an official of the Home Department said there is no proposal to release any detainee on Eid this year. “Earlier detainees with least involvement in subversive activities or those booked under Public Safety Act were released. But there is no such proposal on cards this year.”
