Salah-ud-Din pays tribute

NISAR AHMED THOKAR

Islamabad, Oct 2: The Chairman of United Jihad Council (UJC) and chief commander of militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen Syed Salah-ud-Din Tuesday paid glowing tribute to Commander Usama and five other militants who were killed in a fierce encounter with security forces at Wangat village in Ganderbal on Monday.
In a statement here, the UJC chief said the killing of senior militants was the “biggest setback.” “The sacred blood of martyrs will produce thousands of loyalists,” he said. “Hizb-fighters of all ranks are determinant to fight for the liberation of their homeland.”
He maintained that they (Hizb militants) “won’t hesitate in fulfilling the promise which they have made to their motherland.”
Reiterating his pledge to uphold the martyrs’ mission, Salah-ud-Din observed that the day was “not far when the people of Kashmir would achieve their cherished goal of freedom.”
Meanwhile, a Hizb spokesman Saleem Hashmi said that the slain militant commander Usama and others were “frontline militants of the outfit who engaged in the battle for last several years.” He claimed that nine Indian soldiers have been killed and dozens were injured in the gun battle.
