Srinagar, Oct 5: Due to the high number of aspirants for the Greater Kashmir Autumn Golf Festival, it has been decided by the management to hold a qualifying tournament in Royal Springs Golf Course on October 8 so that deserving golfers of the Valley are selected to compete with the best in the game.
The journey of the main tournament will start on October 11 when the participants will proceed to Pahalgam and play the next day. Greater Kashmir not only has been trying to promote golfing tourism in the valley, but also has been encouraging local talent of the game. A number of tournaments over the years have been organized for the local amateurs and professionals. This time also exposure will be given to the deserving ones so that they can improve and excel. Also young boys and girls will be invited from various schools of the valley to watch the tournament so that they will develop an interest for the game.
