Srinagar, Aug 31: Bollywood’s uncrowned king Shah Rukh Khan could be playing a daredevil army officer in his upcoming venture for the Yash Raj Films, but in real life a woman official of Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) is looking after his security in the Valley to ensure that he doesn’t face any inconvenience while shooting in the picturesque region.
 Raja Nighat Aman, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), who has a decade-and-half of policing career to her credit doesn’t mind to follow SRK like his shadow. For Nighat, typical reel life one-liner of astute police official that “duty comes first”, seems to be the real life motto.
 Being in charge of security for the high-profile film crew including famed filmmaker Yash Raj Chopra his son Aditya and actress Anushka Sharma isn’t a cakewalk for the young DSP.
 Though rubbing shoulders with celebrities from the glamour world, the duty is giving her sleepless nights given the sensitive assignment. Officials say she spends the day with the crew. This starts soon after the sunrise and continues almost till late sunset.
 But work for Nighat doesn’t end with the sunset. “She also has to ensure foolproof security at locales for the next day. This needs walking miles together in the hostile mountainous terrains and making coordination with allied agencies,” says a source as Nighat, like the Bollywood crew remains inaccessible to the media for comments.
 To be extra vigilant at her job, she prefers to be in civvies. Though otherwise she dons a fully decorated Khaki, her new looks are believed to be part of her security strategy, stringent enough to let any fan even get a glimpse of Shah Rukh Khan then to talk of meeting him. The shootings are held in concertina wire fenced locales in south Kashmir.
 Nighat, who two years back as the then DSP Traffic Srinagar shot to instant spotlight for having pulled up an army convey which violated norms on Srinagar-Jammu highway, seems to have remained government’s preference to assign her with sensitive responsibility of Badshah’s security.
 “Kashmiri women are known for bravery for ages... Nighat is one such example in our Khaki ranks,” says a senior official requesting not to be named.
 As about the film crew, it has gone so impressed with her work that Yash Chopra, as per sources, doesn’t start the shooting till he finds that Nighat there.
 She joined the crew with the arrival of Yashraj Raj Chopra last week, two days after which King Khan arrived at Srinagar International Airport. Amid tight security cover, he flew by helicopter to Pahalgam in south Kashmir to join his colleagues including Anushka Sharma, who adds a triangular touch to the SRK-Katrina onscreen couple.
 This was where SRK was received by DSP who is following the visiting celebrity like shadow. Never mind the stringent security measures are keeping King Khan away from millions of his fans in Kashmir, like elsewhere world over.
