Srinagar, Sep 10: After Tanghdar, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is all set to chair the Cabinet meeting at Machil near the Line of Control in district Kupwara on Wednesday. Officials said all arrangements for the special meeting have been finalized. The Chief Minister chaired a Cabinet meeting at Tangdhar near the Line of Control this May as part of his efforts to reach out to the remotest corners of the state.
To finalize the arrangements for the meet, a high-level meeting was taken by Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Sarmad Hafeez, on Monday. “All the arrangements for the Cabinet meeting have been finalized,” a senior official, who was part of the meeting, told Greater Kashmir. “Most of the district officials have started moving to Machil since yesterday,” he said.
The official said the CM and 18 Cabinet ministers are supposed to arrive in Machil Wednesday morning.
“The meeting is supposed to start at 9.40 am,” the official said.
“Soon after the meeting, the Chief Minister will take a review of development works in Machil area,” he said.
A senior police officer said elaborate security arrangements have been made for the meeting, adding that security personnel have started leaving for Machil.
Officials said Hotel Papa Please at Kupwara has been given the order for arranging lunch for the Chief Minister, Cabinet ministers and officials.
