Royal Wedding Gifts distributed among special brides

Srinagar, Sep 12: Directorate of lifelong learning (DLL), Kashmir University (KU) in collaboration with Islamic Relief and Research Trust (IRRT) Kashmir and the Jammu and Kashmir Bank organized “distribution of Royal wedding gifts among 14 special brides” at Gandhi Bhawan Tuesday.
 Vice-Chancellor, KU, Prof Talat Ahmed, Registrar, KU, Dr Syed Fayaz Ahmad, Director, DLL, Dr GH Mir, Founder IRRT, Advocate, AR Hanjora, Deans and Heads of various university faculties, civil society members, and representatives of various NGOs’ attended the function.
 The VC and other dignitaries distributed “Royal Wedding Gifts among 14 special brides, drawn from various far flung areas of the State who are mostly orphans.” “The kit contains 30 utility items for use at the time of marriage,” a handout said.
 The function was also addressed by Founder, IRRT, Advocate AR Hanjoora and Manzoor Ahmed Baba.
 Meanwhile Kashmir Welfare Trust, Chairman, Manzoor Ahmed Wangnoo who was also present on the occasion hailed the KU authorities for the endeavour adding that “others should learn a lesson from the first of its kind activity.”
