1400 vehicles fined, 120 seized in 4 days

Srinagar, Sep 13: During the ongoing drive to check “visible offences” the Traffic Police Srinagar has fined around 1400 vehicles whereas 120 odd vehicles have been seized for violation of norms.
“Traffic Police Srinagar after conclusion of on spot awareness programme in first week of September has now started enforcement drive against the traffic rule violators particularly those involved in visible offences like driving without crash helmet, triple riding, rash driving, using mobile while driving ,” DIG Traffic Shafqat Watali said in a statement.
Giving details SP Traffic Srinagar Haseeb ur Rehman said: “Since September 10 action has been taken against 1383 vehicles, 1212 vehicles have been fined and an amount of Rs 267200 realised as fine from them.”
