IUST Trekking camp concludes
Srinagar, Sept 13: The five day trekking cum eco-sensitization programme organized by Directorate of Physical Education and Sports, Islamic University of Science & Technology concluded at Gulmarg.
The trekking contingent comprised 32 students and five officials. During their stay in Gulmarg, the participants visited different spots including, Baba Reshi, Tangmarg, HAWS, Kongdoori and Apharwat, despite heavy rains and fog.
During the programme, the students were also taught about the preservation of ecosystem and leadership qualities.
On the final day of the camp, IUST Vice-Chancellor Prof. A R Trag and former PSC Chairman, Muhammad Shafi Pandit interacted with the students sharing their valuable words and experiences. Muhammad Shafi Pandit was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Prof Trag praised the students for showing their interest in such programmes and assured them of taking measures for the development of personality through sports and adventure programmes.
He also announced that within a week’s time, the girls of the institution will also attend five days trekking programmes.
