Srinagar, Sep 14: The Muslims of Kashmir Valley from all walks of life have strongly condemned the blasphemous film produced in the US, terming it an attempt to hurt the religious sentiments of Muslims.
Jammu and Kashmir Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulema chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said, “It is a very sensitive issue. It has hurt the religious sentiments of entire Muslim Ummah and enraged Muslims around the world.” He said it had become a habit of the anti-Islam and anti-Muslim forces to desecrate holy Quran and show disrespect to Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Castigating such acts in strong terms, Mirwaiz, who is under house arrest since Thursday, said Muslims can never tolerate such a disrespect shown towards Prophet Muhammad (SAW) who brought light to the world. He said that Muslims can tolerate everything, but in no case they are going to bear the desecration of holy Quran or disrespect shown towards the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). He said that countries around the world who advocate bonhomie and love between religions and people are maintaining criminal silence over the issue.
Mirwaiz said the immediate need of the hour was that Muslim World and especially OIC should convene an emergency meeting to reign in anti-Muslim forces from repeating any such sacrilegious acts in future.
The nominated Mufti Azam, Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam, while condemning the blasphemous film as “idiotic”, appealed the Ummah to make use of digital media to spread awareness about the revered personality of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam in a statement strongly condemns the film made by an American Jew.
“I urge the people of Kashmir and the Muslim Ummah to utilize the digital means available to us and spread the truth about our beloved Prophet (SAW). Fuelling the hatred will lead to more hatred and this is what all the enemies of Islam desire,” he said. “All those people who use their sinister designs to hurt us by these acts must understand that the followers of our holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) have suffered much worse in the past, but it has never affected our love for Prophet (SAW),” he added.
Jamaat-e-Islami J&K, while strongly condemning the film, welcomed the statement of Jamiat-e-Alhi Hadith chief Ghulam Rasool Malik calling for formulating a joint strategy to prevent recurrence of such events and charting out a joint protest programme.
In a statement today, the Jama’at spokesman said, “All those who are involved in planning, producing, releasing and promoting the American film “Innocence of Muslims” which is based on derogatory, disgraceful, defamatory, contemptuous and blasphemous material quite against the historical facts, have very badly hurt the sentiments of Muslims living in every part of the globe and as such invited trouble for them. Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is dearer to every Muslim than his own life and property and no Muslim can tolerate any disrespect or disregard to this most sacred personality who is the leader of all the Messengers appointed by the Creator of this universe. If America is true in its claim of being against any kind of the religious blasphemy, then it should lose no time in taking stern action against these enemies of humanity.”
The chairman Nigeen Lake Conservation Organization, Manzoor Ahmed Wangnoo, has also condemned the blasphemy and said that Muslims should use their “voice in fullest to oppose this evil move of the Zionist west.”
“Any condemnation would be too little because Holy Prophet (SAW) is dearest to every Muslim in the world. This is the basics of our Iman,” he said.
The Democratic Freedom Party chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah has strongly denounced the desecrating and the blasphemous film.
“Muslims can bear anything but not anything derogatory against our Prophet Muhammad (SAW). This is an attack on the whole Muslim community,” Shah said in a statement today.
Terming the release of the video as a deep rooted conspiracy, Shah said, “The film has hurt the religious sentiments of Muslims and we should think seriously on the issue. The Jews have been the enemies of the Prophet (SAW) in the past, they are the enemies at present and will remain the enemies of the Islam in future. They will never want that Islam should reach out to the world in its true and clear form.”
Dukhtaran-e-Millat chief Asiya Andrabi termed the protests and expression of hatred by the Muslim against the film as genuine and natural reaction.
“Jihad is only solution to the war against Islam waged by the anti-Islamic forces under the patronage of America. The Muslim cannot achieve freedom from political, economic and ideological dominance of non-Muslims until they get united under the banner of Islam and fight together the anti-Islamic forces in the world,” said Asiya in a statement today, appealing to the Muslims of world in general and Kashmir in particular to boycott the purchase of American and Israeli products.
Condemning the blasphemous film, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front spokesman on Friday termed it an act of impudence against a moral and spiritual institution. He said the film has badly hurt the religious sentiments of Muslims.
Condemning the movie, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (R) termed it a deliberate attempt to hurt the religious sentiments of Muslims.
“Muslims have never used such tactics to attack any religion like the West is doing,” said a spokesman of the Front in a statement today, adding that anti-Muslim elements were instigating violence.
Front has also condemned the arrest of its chairman Farooq Ahmad Dar.
Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (H) chairman, Javaid Ahmed Mir, on Friday blamed Jewish lobbies in the US for the blasphemy.
“There are well established Jewish lobbies in USA who are always hell bent upon outraging the sentiments of Muslims. In the reaction when Muslims protest against their act, they are dubbed as terrorists and extremists,” Mir said in a statement.
“There is a systematic approach of these people to outrage our sentiment,” Mir added.
The World Islamic Students League chairman Jameel Ahmad War, while condemning the film, appealed to the UN to constitute an impartial committee against these anti-Islamic activities and propaganda masterminded by the Zionist lobby under the secret patronage of US. He also appealed to the Muslims to get united against these anti-Islamic forces.

The former Mayor Salman Ali Sagar has also condemned the blasphemy, terming it an attempt by the Zionist forces to offend the religious sentiments of Muslims. “Zionist forces want to feed the people in the west with wrong information about Islam to keep them away from it. They want to create misunderstanding in the minds of people about Islam,” he said.
The President Jamia Market Traders Federation, Javed Ahmed Zargar, Shaher-e-Khaas Traders Federation Zaina Kadal President Nazir Ahmed Shah, and Mutton Dealers Association President Khazir Muhammad Regoo have also condemned the blasphemy.
