Eligibility:
Only applicants originating in developing countries, qualify for selection. To be eligible, candidates must reside and work in their country at the time of the introduction of the file.

At the beginning of the programme, candidates must be less than 40 years old for courses, and less than 45 years old for training programmes.

Candidates must be holders of a degree that is comparable to a Belgian University graduate degree (“license”). However, for certain programmes different rules of admissibility may be defined, and these are specified hereafter, where appropriate.
Candidates must show professional experience of at least two years upon termination of their studies. Where candidates are holders of a postgraduate degree delivered by an university of an industrial country, they must show professional experience of at least three years upon termination of their studies.
Candidates must have a good knowledge of written and spoken French; for programmes organised in another language, good knowledge, in writing and speaking, of this language, is required. Moreover, the candidate will be asked to commit himself to study French in order to be able to participate in daily life in Belgium.
Scholarship Description: Within the programme for international courses and training programmes, CIUF-CUD grants each year 150 scholarships for participation into the courses and 70 for participation into the training programmes.

DAAD Scholarships for Doctoral Programs and Post-docs Short-term
Applications are invited for Long-term Research Grants for Master Graduates of All Disciplines (holding S2 Degree for PhD in Germany) as well as Short-term Research in Germany. The short term research is for Post-doc as well as for DAAD-Alumni.
Research grants are given to:
Excellently-qualified teaching staff from state or private universities
Researchers from research institutions in any field of study/research
Applicants from private sectors with at least two years of working experience
Research grants can be used to carry out:
Research projects at a German university for the purpose of gaining a doctorate in Germany
Research projects at a German higher education institution for the purpose of gaining a doctorate in Indonesia (according to the “DAAD Sandwich Model”
Scholarship duration:
The length of the grant is set by the grant committee during the selection depending on the project in question and on the applicant’s work schedule. In the case of full doctoral programs in Germany the scholarship will be granted for up to three years. For sandwich scholarships, the research stays in Germany will be supported for a maximum of two years. Even when support has been awarded for a full doctoral program, that award will be limited to one year time. Extensions of the scholarship depend on the evaluation of the work of the previous year.
Value:
Depending on the award holder’s academic level, the DAAD will pay a monthly award of 1000 Euros plus travel and health insurance allowances. In addition to these payments, the DAAD will pay a study and research allowance.
When award holders take doctoral programs run under the “DAAD Sandwich Model” and obtain the degree at the home university the award may include the travel expenses of both academic supervisors.
Requirements:
Holder of Master Degree (S2 Degree) with minimum GPA of 3,00
Master’s degree should have been completed not longer than six years at the time of application
A convincing and well-planned research project that has been agreed by a German academic
Supervisor at the German host university
Written confirmation of the supervision by a professor in Germany commenting on your research program
It is required that doctoral candidates wishing to take a doctorate/PhD in their home country
(Sandwich Program) must register for the doctorate at their home university
Proficient in English – TOEFL IBT 80 or ITP 550 or IELTS 6 (obtained in 2011 or 2012) -or good
German language skills. TOEFL Prediction is not accepted
Applicants from the medical field must fulfill specific requirements
Applicants, who have been residing in Germany for more than one year at the time of application cannot be considered
Selection:
A Joint Selection Committee consisting of German and Indonesian university lecturers/researchers will interview the applicants in Indonesia and recommend candidates for final approval to DAAD. The interviews are conducted in English, and will be held in November 2012. DIKTI and/or the DAAD Jakarta Office will inform the candidates in question in due time about the exact dates and venues for interviews.
Travel costs for attending the interviews cannot be borne by DAAD but should be covered by the sending institutions in their own interest.
Two months-German language pre-departure training in Jakarta:
The DAAD scholarship holders will attend a German course at Goethe-Institute Jakarta. This course will be financed by the Directorate General of Higher Education (DIKTI) for all candidates from university Costs for other candidates have to be borne by the sending research institutions or by the candidate themselves. For the full course period, all participants are to be released from any teaching, research other duties at their home institutions. The major part of the course is devoted to basic German language training at Goethe-Institute Jakarta.
Language courses preceding the university studies will be financed by the DAAD and will take place a specialized language institute in Germany. If a final test “DSH” (=German Language Proficiency Test) required by German universities for admission to a degree course, a six months intensive course necessary.
When meeting all requirements, scholarship holders may commence academic studies in Germany winter semester of the following year. Candidates, who have previously applied for a DAAD scholarship without success, may re-apply the DAAD Jakarta Office only once.

Scholarship Amount: The Leiden University Excellence Scholarship programme has 5 awards:
Platinum Covers the tuition fee minus the home fee* and an allowance of €10,000 for living costs
Gold covers the tuition fee minus the home fee*
Silver Covers 75% of the tuition fee Bronze Covers 50% of the tuition fee Ivory Covers 25 % of the tuition fee.
The number and type of award of the scholarship depends on the budget available for each Faculty department.
The type of award has no reflection on the students’ academic level of excellence.
The tuition fee will be reduced to the amount of the home fee. Students who have been awarded a Platinum or Gold award still have to pay the home fee themselves.

Besides financial support for one year, the programme offers regular workshops, jointly organized by the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes and the Leo Baeck Institute London. The programme particularly aims at doctoral students who wish to carry out research in more than one country; it is open to students of any nationality at any institution of higher education.
What it covers:
Fellows receive a stipend of 1,150 EUR per month. For research trips and conference participation monthly supplements and travel allowances are available on request. Tuition fees are not covered.

Postgraduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child in India by UGC

The females are even forced to give birth to male child. In such circumstances education of women needs to be used and effective means for their empowerment and education will prepare them to have a control over their lives. The mindset which militates against the girl child could not keep pace with economic progress and literacy. The Govt. of India declared elementary education as a basic human right of every child. The Union Government of India has taken various steps to uplift the status of women by implementing various schemes including free education for girls.
In order to achieve and promote girls education, UGC has introduced a Post Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child with an aim to compensate direct costs of girl education to all levels especially for such girls who happen to be the only girl child in their family.
Eligibility & Criteria-
Any single girl child of her parents. In a family if one son and one daughter is available then girl child will not be considered for scholarship under the scheme.
The scheme is applicable to such a single girl child who has taken admission in regular, full-time 1st year Masters Degree course in any recognized university or a post graduate college.
This scholarship is available to PG-I year student only.
Admission to PG Course in distance education mode is not covered under the scheme.
Girl students up to the age of 30 years at the time of admission in PG courses are eligible.
Points to be remember-
Applications submitted in hard copy shall not be entertained or considered for award of scholarship in any circumstances whatsoever.
Record of candidates, who are not selected, shall not be preserved beyond three months from the date of declaration of results, on UGC website.

The Oak Human Rights Fellowship is designed for one human rights professional who is doing on-the ground work at some level of personal risk. The Fellowship is designed for people doing human rights work outside the United States. A US-based candidate might be eligible if (a) his or her base of operations was in the U.S. while substantial work was done abroad, or (b) if he or she worked on an issue in the United States and other countries. The Fellow must have a functional level of verbal ability in English. The Fellow is required to lead a seminar class that meets once a week and the discussion will take place in English. So, while the Fellow’s English proficiency need not be perfect or grammatically correct all the time, he/she would, at the minimum, need to be able to converse in such a way that she/he could illustrate points/topics to the class and be able to respond to questions, most of which will be posed in English. Additional Oak scholarships are awarded to other international students, with two reserved for students from Zimbabwe and with a preference for one or two students from Denmark.
Scholarship Description: In addition to the annual Oak Human Rights Fellowship, the College also has a Colby-Oak international Scholarship program for students who have suffered or whose families have suffered political oppression, including political torture. Each year, the Oak Institute brings an Oak Human Rights Fellow to teach and conduct research while residing at the College. The Institute organizes lectures and other events centered around the fellow’s area of expertise. The purpose of the fellowship is to offer an opportunity for prominent practitioners in international human rights to take a sabbatical leave from their work and spend as long as a semester as a scholar-in-residence at the College. This provides the Fellow time for reflection, research, and writing.
What it covers: The Fellow will receive a stipend and College fringe benefits, plus round-trip transportation from the fellow’s home site, a two-bedroom apartment, use of a car, and meals on campus. The Fellow will also receive research support, including office space, secretarial support, computer and library facilities, and a student assistant. Total compensation for the semester is $32,500, which includes both the salary and benefits.
