Srinagar, Sep 1: To review the developmental works being taken up for beautification of Jamia Masjid, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr Asgar Samoon visited the area Saturday.
 Among others who accompanied the Divisional Commissioner include District Development Commissioner, Baseer Ahmad Khan, Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Dr GN Qasba, Director Tourism, Talat Ahmad, Director Floriculture, Anil Misra besides other officers.
 “During the meeting with a managing body of Jamia Masjid, it was given out that Rs 5.13 crore shall be incurred on the beautification and other developmental works to be taken up in the area,” an official handout said.
 “An amount of Rs 1.22 crore shall be expended on development of interpretation centre, while Rs. 84.91 lakh shall be utilized for the construction of restaurant besides Rs. 85.90 lakh shall be incurred on refurbishment and conservation of the mosque,” it added.
 “The shopkeepers coming under the alignment of Muslim Park shall be rehabilitated at Kawdara, the meeting was informed,” the handout added.
 Dr Samoon exhorted upon the officers concerned to expedite development activities being taken up for the area.
