Poonch, Sep 27: Army on Thursday claimed that it foiled a infiltration bid by killing at least two militants in Krishna Ghati Sector along Line of Control (LoC) in this border district.
An Army spokesman said that soldiers guarding LoC in Krishna Ghati sector noticed a group of militants trying to sneak into this side. “Soldiers challenged them. However, they opened fire which was retaliated triggering an encounter in which two militants were killed,” he added.

Meanwhile, Army’s Srinagar based spokesman said that soldiers averted a major tragedy near Line of Control in frontier district of Kupwara by intercepting a huge haul of 110 assorted weapons.
“Soldiers noticed suspicious move of few persons, in Keran sector near the LoC. On being challenged, the infiltrators ran back towards Pakistan administered Kashmir, leaving behind six gunny bags which contained 10 AK-47 Rifles with 20 magazines, 98 Chinese made Pistols (.30 MAUSER) with 196 magazines and two Sub Machine Guns(.30 Cal, folding Butt) with Four magazines. All the weapons were secured with packing tape and were brand new,” the spokesman claimed.
Salahuddin thanks people for observing shutdown
Srinagar,Sep 27: The United Jihad Council chairman and supreme commander of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, Syed Salahuddin has thanked people of Kashmir for observing complete shutdown on Thursday.
“Kashmiris have never accepted New Delhi’s rule in the state,” the Hizbul Mujaheedin spokesman Salim Hashmi quoted Salahuddin as having said.
Meanwhile, Salahuddin has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of the mother of Muhammad Afzal Guru. He has prayed for the deceased and sympathized with the bereaved family.
