Heavy vehicular traffic banned in Udhampur city

Jammu, Sep 2: Heavy vehicular traffic has been banned in Udhampur city to ease out congestion and jamming in the area, according to an order passed by DM here.
 According to the order, heavy vehicles will not be allowed to enter Udhampur town from Phalta through Old National Highway and they shall follow the bypass road during peak hours -- 6 AM to 9 PM.
During non-peak hours (9 PM to 6 AM) heavy vehicles may be allowed to pass through Udhampur town. The restrictions were not applicable to vehicles which
required repairs at private workshops situated between Jakhani Chowk to Raj Theatre between 2 PM to 4 PM which may be allowed after proper verification, the order stated.
