JK Bank distributes 900 Kissan credit cards

Srinagar, Sep 2: In continuation of its pursuit to enhance agricultural credit, J&K Bank conducted a Kissan Credit Card mela at village Mahal Shah in district Samba.
The camp on Saturday was organized by Business Unit Ramgarh of the bank.
S C Rabra, CGM NABARD was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
More than 900 Kissan Credit Cards (KCC) were distributed among the farmers during the camp.
Speaking on the occasion, President and Zonal Head Om Prakash Sharma said, “KCC will be provided to all the eligible farmers in the Zone. The scheme will be beneficial to the farmers for boosting their agriculture activities and help them in meeting timely short term credit requirements for cultivation of crops, post harvest expenses and profitable marketing of their produce.”
Sharma urged the farmers to utilize the credit judiciously and repay the loan within the tenure for the success of the scheme.
Exhorting youth to take advantage of various banking products for their self employment and form Farmers Clubs in the villages, he asked the women folk present in the gathering to form Self Help Groups for income generating activities and sustaining their families.
Encouraging the farmers to diversify into other allied agro based activities like horticulture & floriculture, he assured them all possible financial support.
Chief Guest Rabra appreciated the Bank's “commitment to reach every unbanked corner of the state by providing Kissan Credit Cards and other agro-based financial products to the farmers of the state.”
