Valley to host bodybuilding national championship
India’s Top 100 Musclemen To Compete For Title
Srinagar, Sep 2: For the first time in the history of bodybuilding arena in the Jammu and Kashmir, Valley would be hosting National bodybuilding championship at Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Complex here on September 19 and 20.
It will be for the first time that such type of bodybuilding event would be held in J&K in which Countries top musclemen would compete for the title. Around 100 bodybuilders from all over the State have so far confirmed their participation while J&K will be represented by 10 players.
In addition to the players, around 50 officials who include judges will be also coming to the Valley.
The event would be organised by Jammu and Kashmir Bodybuilding Association under the aegis of Indian Bodybuilding Federation.
Giving details, JK Bodybuilding Association, President Anees Ahmad Chowdhary said, “It is not an easy task to organise such an event and for from last two months we have been working hard to make arrangements. With Allah’s grace, we have been able to achieve our goal and we assure everyone that the event will be grand success. We also request sponsors to come forward and help us in the event”.
He said that bodybuilding is a popular sport in the Valley and one can see gymnasiums in every nook and corner.
Meanwhile, the selection trials for State team would be held at Body Care Gym Rawalpora on September 14. For registration players have been asked to contact on cell numbers: 9419013778 &9906427071.
