Bohri Kadal shops, Eidgah drain to be completed within month: SMC


Srinagar, Apr 13: Gearing up its men and machinery ahead of Durbar, the Srinagar Municipal Corporation Saturday reviewed its ongoing activities with focus on better sanitation.
 The SMC Commissioner Dr GN Qasba flanked by other officials conducted an extensive tour of Shaher-e-Khaas to take a “stock of sanitation, drainage works and anti encroachment drives”, an official handout said adding he visited Hazratbal, Lal Bazaar, Nowshehra, Zadibal, Alamgari Bazaar, Saazgaripora, Gasiyar, Eidgah, Soura, Sekidafar, Nawakadal, Rajouri Kadal, Bohri Kadal, Babadembh areas.
 During his visit to Hazratbal, Commissioner directed Chief Enforcement Officer to remove “all the encroachments of the area within two days.”
 At Eidgah, Dr Qasba gave instructions that construction of “peripheral drain shall be completed within a span of one month.”
 At Rajouri Kadal he reviewed ongoing construction of community hall in the area. He directed the concerned ward officer to “improve the sanitation of the area and instructed him to cover up all the households for providing of color coded twin bins and further stressed on holding an awareness campaigns on waste segregation with the locals of the area.”
 “At Bohri Kadal, the directions were passed on for the establishment of temporary shops for the shopkeepers coming under alignment of the newly proposed bridge at Zainakadal. Out of which five shops has already been completed where as rest of the twelve shops have to be completed within a period of twenty days said Dr Qasba.
