Announces special discount for Govt, PSU, retired employees


Srinagar, Apr 20: Expanding its network, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has commissioned state-of-the-art High Speed Internet Access (HSIA) — popularly known as EVDO services— in major district headquarters across Kashmir.   Masood Bala, Public Relation Officer BSNL Srinagar in a statement said that with the commissioning of the HSIA at district headquarters in Baramulla, Sopore and Pulwama, the total number of EVDO BTSs has increased to 21.
 “The commissioning of these HSIA will provide internet access in these rural areas. The subscribers will enjoy surfing speed up to 2 Mbps. The service is economical. Besides the subscribers can enjoy roaming all over the country without any extra cost,” Bala said who is also Sub-Divisional Engineer (Marketing), BSNL. 

 The EVDO devise is priced at Rs 1199 with activation charges of Rs 500.  With fixed monthly charges of Rs-199, 299, 449 and 649, subscribers can avail 0.5 GB, 1 GB, 2 GB and 5 GB of internet services respectively. For Rs 750 plan the subscribers can enjoy unlimited internet services.
 “BSNL expects that the commissioning of this service will improve customer confidence and widen its customer base. The company is already providing state of art technology like Broadband and 3G services to its esteemed subscribers,” Bala said.  Bala said BSNL also plans to extend special introductory scheme of discount rebate @ 20 percent on usage and Fixed Monthly Charges to Central Government, State Government, PSU employees, retired government, PSU employees and visually impaired subscribers of EVDO postpaid data plan for a period of one year from 01.02.2013 after checking bona fides of the subscribers.
