‘Ban of private practice big relief to people’

Srinagar, Jan 31: Calling the ban on private practices of Head of Departments as big relief to the ailing people of Jammu and Kashmir, the People’s Forum, an NGO, on Thursday said the move would improve the patient care in the Government-run hospitals. “The Forum has been campaigning against the private practice of faculty in the GMC Associated Hospital for long time. The public grievances were at the peak due to the private practice of doctors,” Convener of the Forum said in a statement.
“The innocent patients in need of specialists care are directed to private hospitals and clinics by delay tactics in dates for surgery especially during critical hours. These doctors also desert the emergency,” the convener said.
The Forum also demanded the banning of private practice of all the faculty members
