Taj directs linking of old, new blocks of LD Hospital
Srinagar, Jan 31: Minister for Medical Education Taj Mohi-ud-Din today directed immediate linking of old and new blocks of LD hospital at Srinagar to cope up with the ever growing rush of patients.
Chairing a meeting to review functioning of the hospital, the Minister asked the SMC authorities to prepare a rehabilitation plan for those shopkeepers and vendors who are to be dislocated with the hospital expansion. In this connection, he asked the SMC and JKPCC authorities to maintain a close liaison so that the project is completed forthwith.

He directed the Urban Environmental Engineering Department authorities to augment the sewerage treatment plant at the hospital and connect it with the main sewer trunk. He also directed computerization of all hospital Departments, linking of all HoDs with drug store and chemical analysis of supplies procured by the hospital.
The Minister also visited the G B Pant Hospital at Sonawar, Srinagar and reviewed its functioning. Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Baseer Ahmad Khan, SSP, Srinagar, Syed Ashiq Bukhari, Principal, GMC, Srinagar, Commissioner, SMC, Dr. G. N. Qasba, Medical Superintendents, representatives of JKPCC and other officers accompanied the Minister during the visit.
