Spewing venom
I have read with dismay and anguish the article by Bharat Kanrad pleading for abrogation of article 370 of the Indian constitution. Of course everybody is entitled to one's point of view. The striking difference here is that Kanrad has breached all tenets of civilised conduct. The whole article, apart from displaying ignorance of the political history of JK state over the last 65 years, reeks with communalism, fascism and ethnic hatred. Prof.Siddiq Wahid has reacted promptly, effectively and appropriately. Kanrad in the process of spewing venom against Kashmiris has also exposed himself as a pseudo-intellectual. In regard to Kashmir, the overwhelming majority of Indians expose themselves as narrow-minded bigots who cease to be Gandhians, liberals, marxists or humanists. The views expressed by Kanrad are not representative of only the lunatic fringe in India. The BJP and other members of the saffron brigade espouse the view openly and relentlessly. The Congress party, without much ado, has made article 370 almost redundant. Whether you are in a sheep's clothing or not, you are a wolf baying for the blood of Kaskmiris. The tragic part is that after all the genocide committed in Kashmir, your cup of blood is still only half-full.
