Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani crew tastes Kashmiri wazwan
MUKEET AKMALI
Srinagar, Feb 1: On the last day of shooting of Ranbir-Deepika starrer Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani at the famous tourist resort Pahalgam today, Director of the film, Ayaan Mukheerji, hosted a traditional Kashmiri Wazwan feast for the crew members.
The crew relished the wazwan in Tramis (big copper plates).
Asif Burza, Director, Hotel Pine and Peak, Pahalgam, where the crew was staying, said: “The film crew relished Kashmiri cuisine in local style.”
“It has now become a trend that every unit which visits Kashmir for shooting loves to relish the local cuisines,” Burza said, adding that this would help promote the rich cultural heritage of Kashmir.
He said the crew members were eager to have firsthand experience of how the wazwaan was served on marriage functions in Kashmir.
“Ranbir and Deepika were excited to relish the wazwan,” Burza added.
Line producer of the film, Khawar Jamsheed told Greater Kashmir that the film shooting had been completed and the crew would fly back to Mumbai.
“Every film crew that comes to Kashmir makes it a point to relish wazwan. Recently, Imtiyaz Ali,
Director Rockstar movie during his shooting in Kashmir threw wazwan party to all his crew members. Again Anuskha Sharma did the same,” he said.
To mention, ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ is the new-year presentation from Karan Johar’s banner Dharma Productions and the next directorial film of Ayan Mukherjee after making his debut film ‘Wake up Sid’ in 2009 starring Ranbir and Konkana Sen Sharma.
Pertinently, Ranbir-Deepika cleared all apprehensions on visiting Kashmir for shooting at some hill resorts.
They agreed instantaneously when Karan told them about the shooting locales for the upcoming film, which also star casts Aditya Roy Kapur and an Indian actress of French descent, Kalki Koechlin.
The crews did shoot at Kongdori in Gulmarg, two days in Pahalgam. The crew mostly did shoot song sequences in Kashmir along with few scenes.
In Gulmarg film crew stayed at recently opened state-of-art hotel, The Kyber Resorts and Spa where Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had hosted dinner for the Bollywood stars.
